Paul Giamatti has joined the film’s cast, reprising his role from one episode of the series. <\/p>
After months of rumours, it has finally been confirmed that Downton Abbey<\/a> is returning to the big screen, with a third film following on from 2022\u2019s Downton Abbey: A New Era.<\/p>\n The new film will once again be written by Julian Fellowes and helmed by A New Era director Simon Curtis, and while no plot details have been announced, we do have a list of the cast members who are set to return.<\/p>\n This includes Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton and Dominic West.<\/span><\/p>\n Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera, and Douglas Reith are all also confirmed to be back, while it has been teased that \u201cmany other fan favourites\u201d will appear.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, those joining the franchise for the new film include Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan, while Paul Giamatti will be reprising his role <\/span>as Cora Grantham\u2019s brother Harold Levinson, who he played in a previous Christmas special.<\/span><\/p>\n Focus Features and Carnival Films are thrilled to announce the third film in the beloved Downton Abbey franchise.
