Fan theories have gone into overdrive since the release of Doctor Who<\/a> season 14 episode 2, The Devil\u2019s Chord<\/a>, which saw the Doctor tell Ruby about his granddaughter Susan Foreman<\/a>, and speculate on her whereabouts.<\/p>\n

In the episode, the Doctor admitted to Ruby that he has no idea where Susan is, and suggested that the genocide that wiped out the Time Lords might have killed her.<\/p>\n

In spite of this gloomy outlook, many fans have suggested that this reference to Susan could be leading up to a bigger reveal later in the season, when the Doctor\u2019s granddaughter makes her long awaited return \u2013 and now, Carole Ann Ford, the actor behind Susan, has weighed in herself.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Ford shared her reaction to the character\u2019s mention in The Devil\u2019s Chord, saying: \u201cIt was a lovely surprise. I do like the way the new series is refreshing everyone\u2019s memories and celebrating the series\u2019 beginnings while welcoming in new audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, on whether Susan could return this season, Ford said:\u00a0<\/em>\u201cAs we know, with Doctor Who, absolutely anything and everything is possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cBonnie [Langford]\u2019s character, Mel, was last seen on a far away planet hitching a lift with Tony Selby\u2019s loveable rogue Glitz, and then suddenly turned up in 21st century London working for UNIT!<\/p>\n
