While the drama has continued to dominate the streamer, Baby Reindeer has also been subject to an internet sleuth phenomenon of people online trying to track down the real-life identities<\/a> of the characters featured in the show.<\/p>\n Gadd has previously issued a statement urging viewers to stop the speculation<\/a>, and he has now told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> that he doesn\u2019t think he\u2019ll \u201cever comment\u201d on the fanfare again.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t agree with the sleuth thing,\u201d he explained. \u201cI\u2019ve put out a statement publicly saying I want the show to be received as a piece of art.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m called Donny Dunn. It exists in a sort of fictional realm, even though it\u2019s based on truth, it exists in a fictional realm, let\u2019s enjoy the world that I\u2019ve created.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cIf I wanted the real-life people to be found, I would\u2019ve made it a documentary. I\u2019ve spoken publicly about how I don\u2019t want people to do it and if I start playing a game of whack-a-mole, then I\u2019m almost adding to it. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever comment on it ever again.\u201d<\/p>\n When also asked about whether he\u2019s been keeping up with recent developments in the online search for the real Martha (played in the Baby Reindeer cast<\/a> by Jessica Gunning<\/a>) or Darrien (played by Tom Goodman-Hill), Gadd said: \u201cI can\u2019t confirm or deny anything relating to the real-life people who the characters are based on in the show.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cI know for every single part, there\u2019s been about five or six people who have been sort of named as each part, even all the way down to the pub manager.
