ITV has cast David Tennant as Alexander Litvinenko in an upcoming drama about the former KBG officer\u2019s death from polonium poisoning in 2006.<\/p>\n
Written by Lupin<\/a>\u2018s George Kay, Litvinenko will follow Scotland Yard Officers as they spend 10 years trying to prove who was responsible for the death of the former Russian Federal Security Services officer.<\/p>\n The drama will also look at Alexander\u2019s widow Marina (played by The Deuce\u2019s Margarita Levieva), who \u201cfought tirelessly to persuade the British Government to publicly name her husband\u2019s killers and acknowledge the role of the Russian State in his murder\u201d.<\/p>\n Joining Tennant and Levieva in the cast are Catastrophe\u2019s Mark Bonnar and Small Axe\u2019s Neil Maskell, who play Scotland Yard officers Clive Timmons and Brent Hyatt respectively.<\/p>\n In a statement, writer Kay said: \u201cIn late 2006, Alexander Litvinenko was a living witness to his own murder. He spent his dying days entrusting the Metropolitan Police with the details of what happened to him.<\/p> \u201cIt took those police and his remarkable widow Marina Litvinenko a decade to have those claims ratified.
