The film adaptation of Richard Osman\u2019s novel The Thursday Murder Club<\/a> has now completed its central cast, with Calendar Girls star Celia Imrie being cast as Joyce.<\/p>\n Imrie joins Dame Helen Mirren as Elizabeth, Pierce Brosnan as Ron and Sir Ben Kingsley as Ibrahim, whose casting was announced in April<\/a>.<\/p>\n Osman announced the news of Imrie\u2019s casting on X, writing: \u201cSo happy to announce that our Thursday Murder Club line-up is complete. Alongside Dame Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan and Sir Ben Kingsley, we now have our Joyce. The one and only Celia Imrie! So thrilled!\u201d<\/p>\n The film will be directed by Harry Potter<\/a>\u2018s Chris Columbus, and, as with the novel on which it is based, will follow a group of four retirees who unite at their retirement village to solve the murder of a property developer.<\/p>\n As well as starring in Calendar Girls, Imrie is known for her previous roles in films including Bridget Jones\u2019s Diary<\/a>, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Mamma Mia!
