The Mayor of Kingstown star doesn’t seem certain on his future in the Marvel franchise. <\/p>
Jeremy Renner isn\u2019t focusing on Hawkeye<\/a> right now, and doesn\u2019t quite know what\u2019s going on with the future of the Marvel<\/a> series, he has admitted to RadioTimes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Promoting the brand new third season of Mayor of Kingstown<\/a> following his serious accident in 2023, the actor wasn\u2019t so sure of his position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n When asked whether he had heard anything about a potential second season of Hawkeye<\/a>, Renner told RadioTimes.com<\/strong>: \u201cYeah, I don\u2019t know, I haven\u2019t gone down that road with anybody at Marvel about it \u2013 so, yeah.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on. I\u2019m focusing on this right now.\u201d<\/p>\n Renner\u2019s comments come after reports that Hawkeye season 2 had been rumoured<\/a> to have been green-lit, but with Renner\u2019s Clint Barton taking a bit more of a backseat in the drama in a reduced role.<\/p>\n In February of this year, though, Renner had admitted that he was \u201cgame\u201d to return to Hawkeye.<\/p>\n Giving an update to Entertainment Tonight<\/a>, Renner said: \u201cI\u2019m always game. I\u2019m gonna be strong enough, that\u2019s for sure. I\u2019ll be ready.\u201d<\/p>\n As of now, it looks as though Hawkeye fans aren\u2019t getting any definitive answers just yet \u2013 but hey, that\u2019s big-budget television for you.<\/p>\n Fans have been crossing their fingers for a second season ever since the first debuted in 2021 \u2013 and we followed Renner\u2019s Clint as he took prot\u00e9g\u00e9e Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) under his wing to shoot arrows and fight enemies.<\/p> Whatever the fate of Hawkeye is, it\u2019s clear that Renner is currently focusing on the third instalment of hit Taylor Sheridan drama The Mayor of Kingstown.<\/p>\n The new season sees Renner return as lead Mike McLusky, with his character set to face emotional new challenges, highs and lows that are very much reflective of Renner\u2019s own journey with working on the series just a year after his snowplow accident in January 2023.<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Commenting on whether his character reaches his limits this season in Mayor of Kingstown, Renner said: \u201cYeah, that was kind of injected just by my own personal reaching my limits, right?\u201d<\/p>\n Renner\u2019s accident in 2023 saw him being pulled under his 14,000-pound snowcat when clearing snow from his neighbours\u2019 driveways.
