Few shows in recent years have caused anything like as much of a sensation as the first season of Squid Game<\/a> \u2013 which means that expectations for the upcoming second run are sky-high.<\/p>\n The follow-up season is set to land on Netflix in December this year<\/a> \u2013 more than three years after the first outing launched \u2013 but according to star Lee Jung-jae, fans needn\u2019t worry about the new run not living up to the hype.<\/p>\n \u201cI think the script for season 2 is even more interesting than season 1, and there\u2019s a new set of characters as well, so I think the audience is going to be really excited about it,\u201d he told RadioTimes.com<\/a> during an exclusive interview to promote his role in the new \u00a0Disney Plus<\/a> Star Wars<\/a> series The Acolyte<\/a>.<\/p>\n He went on to reveal that the next instalment will include all sorts of unpredictable moments \u2013 and it certainly sounds like viewers are in for another roller coaster of emotions.<\/p> \u201cOne thing I felt while reading the script is that there\u2019s an even deeper emotion that\u2019s discovered within season 2,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I think the audience will feel like, \u2018Where is this story going?\u2019 because there are so many twists and turns that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Lee said that the huge success of the original run didn\u2019t necessarily put more pressure on season 2, in part because the two seasons work really well together.<\/p>\n \u201cRather than comparing the two seasons, I think there\u2019s a very natural connection and transition between these seasons that the audience will really appreciate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n A first look at season 2 was\u00a0released in February<\/a>, showing Lee\u2019s character Seong Gi-hun telling a threatening caller that he will find them, \u201cno matter what it takes\u201d.<\/p>\n The series will follow Gi-hun as he abandons his plans to go to the United States, and instead begins a chase with an important motive.<\/p>\n Beyond this, we know little about what to expect \u2013 but Lee\u2019s comments have certainly further amped up the anticipation.
