Bradley Riches may have first come to our attention during the second season of Heartstopper<\/a>, but he hasn\u2019t stopped there.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, he appeared in the newly revamped series of Celebrity Big Brother<\/a> \u2013 where he was evicted somewhat harshly in the penultimate episode \u2013 and now he\u2019s about to embark on another challenge in the West End\u2019s newest musical: Babies.<\/p>\n

This original musical will run this summer at The Other Palace, a venue best known for hosting the London debut of Heathers<\/a> in 2018 \u2013 although Riches is confident that this new show will match up to its iconic predecessor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Babies could 100 per cent be the next Heathers!\u201d he said exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>. \u201cWhen people start to come and watch it, it will start to get the same hype.\u201d<\/p>\n

Written by Jack Godfrey and Martha Geelan, the show is having its fully staged premiere following three sold-out concerts at The Lyric last autumn.<\/p>\n

It follows a group of year 11 students, each tasked with looking after a robot baby for sex education class \u2013 sounds crazy? Well, according to Riches, it is.<\/p>\n

He teased: \u201cIt\u2019s a crazy concept but people will really want to come see it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a proper representation of what British year 11s go through, so hopefully lots of young people will want to come along.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alongside the laughs, audiences can expect plenty of heartfelt moments: \u201cEveryone in the cast is finding out who they are. Like in real life, they\u2019re going through their own family issues, or coming to terms with their sexuality and gender.\u201d<\/p>\n

Riches\u2019s Toby is an openly gay character who finds himself paired up with Jacob (played by Nathan Johnston). At the start, the pair definitely don\u2019t see eye to eye, but this all changes when the two share an unexpected kiss. \u201cIt\u2019s such a good coming of age story!\u201d he laughs.<\/p>\n

With theatre described as his \u201cfirst love\u201d, it\u2019s a big deal for Riches to be back on the stage. \u201cMy dream role is Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors! But maybe I\u2019ll be like Kit [Connor]<\/a> and go to Broadway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Riches\u2019s Heartstopper co-star is set to lead a Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet this autumn with Rachel Zegler<\/a>, and while his rehearsals will probably keep him from London, the rest of the Heartstopper cast are very likely to turn up.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ll definitely come and watch me, 100 per cent.\u201d Make sure you keep an eye out!<\/p>\n

When and where can I see Babies the musical?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Babies the musical will run from 31st May to 14th July\u00a0at The Other Palace<\/strong>, with shows every Tuesday to Sunday.<\/p>\n

For those of you unfamiliar with The Other Palace \u2013 the home of Heathers \u2013 it sits just next to Buckingham Palace gardens, a short walk from Victoria station (Circle and District line, Victoria line and National Rail).<\/p>\n
