The trailer raises a big multiverse issue\u2026 <\/p>

The third and final Venom film is set to land in cinemas this October and now the first official trailer is upon us, but fans have been left confused over one cameo appearance in the new footage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Venom: The Last Dance<\/a> is being touted as the end of the Tom Hardy-fronted trilogy, but the appearance of Chiwetel Ejiofor in the footage has left fans asking whether an MCU crossover could be on the cards.<\/span><\/p>\n

The actor was previously seen as two iterations of Karl Mordo in both Doctor Strange and its sequel, the Multiverse of Madness.<\/span><\/p>\n

But when he appears in the new Venom 3 trailer, he\u2019s not playing either \u2013 a<\/span>nd is leading a team of government agents hunting down Eddie and Venom.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, a<\/span>t the beginning of the trailer, we see Eddie and Venom running away from the Mexican bar they visited in one of the post-credit scenes from Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which it was suggested that the bar was in the MCU as the owner (<\/span>Cristo Fernandez ) <\/span>talked about Iron Man, Hulk and Thanos.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At the end of the scene, Venom and Eddie escape, presumably thanks to Doctor Strange\u2019s spell.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But in the Venom 3 trailer, Ejiofor\u2019s soldier captures the Venom goo at the bar, leading fans to wonder whether Venom is still set in the MCU and not Venom\u2019s universe.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">So you\u2019ve got Chiwetel Ejiofor in Venom 3 as a new character, which takes place in its own universe.
