Actor Erich Anderson, who is best known for starring in Felicity and Thirtysomething, has died at the age of 67, it has been confirmed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The star passed away in his Los Angeles home on Saturday 1st June after being diagnosed with cancer, his wife and actor Saxon Trainor announced on social media. <\/span><\/p>\n

In her post, Trainor shared a photo of Anderson alongside a statement from her brother-in-law Michael O\u2019Malley, who described his cancer diagnosis as a \u201cbrutal struggle\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy brother-in-law Erich Anderson passed this morning after a brutal struggle with cancer,\u201d he wrote. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe had a long successful career as an actor \u2014 he was on that old show Thirtysomething; he was Felicity\u2019s father on Felicity; he was killed in a basement in a Friday the 13th movie; he was on Star Trek and dozens of other shows.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Malley continued: \u201cHe was a smart and funny guy, a fantastic cook; he wrote three great novels which you can find on Amazon. I\u2019ll miss him but his ordeal is over.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Anderson\u2019s breakout acting role came in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter in the 1980s. <\/span>He went on to star in several TV shows and movies, appearing on <\/span>Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/span>, <\/span>NCIS<\/span>, <\/span>7th Heaven<\/span>, <\/span>ER<\/span> and <\/span>The X-Files<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He also appeared <\/span>in Bay City Blues<\/span> as Bobby Stang, <\/span>Thirtysomething<\/span> as Billy Sidel, <\/span>NYPD Blue<\/span> as Don Kirkendall and <\/span>Felicity<\/span> as the main character\u2019s father, Dr Edward Porter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside his acting career, Anderson was also an author and penned three novels, beginning with 2012\u2019s <\/span>Hallowed Be Thy Name and followed by 2014\u2019s Thy Kingdom Come and 2022\u2019s Rabbit: A Golf Fable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tributes have been flooding in for the late actor following the tragic news of his passing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anderson\u2019s former Felicity co-star Eva Gordon wrote on Instagram<\/a>: \u201c<\/span>My beautiful friend, Erich Anderson, has said goodbye.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cHe was a magnificent part of the world. I loved him. I wish you\u2019d known him, there was no one like him. So funny, so open to whatever the day brought him, so wickedly cynical and joyous at once.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter JJ and Matt on Felicity made us get divorced, I saw him less on set, but was always happy when we found each other in LA, we\u2019d hang out and talk for hours. He was so smart,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p> <\/body><\/html>\n
