In an exclusive clip, Cumberbatch explains how Eric was brought to life. <\/p>
Emotional and unique drama series Eric<\/a> has been making a stir on Netflix<\/a> since its debut, not least because of its title character, the puppet monster that appears as a figment of central character Vincent\u2019s imagination.<\/p>\n Vincent and Eric are both played by Benedict Cumberbatch<\/a> and, in an exclusive clip for RadioTimes.com<\/a>, the star has broken down just how the puppet monster was brought to life.<\/p>\n In the clip, director Lucy Forbes explains that the team went through \u201cmany, many different phases\u201d of designs for the character, while creator Abi Morgan says that there was a \u201chuge legacy of monsters\u201d that they had to \u201csteer away from\u201d.<\/p>\n Cumberbatch then explains that Eric was inhabited by \u201ca truly gifted performer\u201d, Olly Taylor, the lead puppeteer on the series, while his voice was put over the top afterwards.<\/p>\n You can watch the full clip right here now.<\/p>\n
