Following the announcement that Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield<\/a> will lead a film adaptation of Enid Blyton\u2019s The Magic Faraway Tree novels, further cast members have now been confirmed, including Baby Reindeer<\/a>\u2018s Jessica Gunning.<\/p>\n

Gunning will play Dame Washalot alongside Foy\u2019s Polly and Garfield\u2019s Tim. Meanwhile, other cast members announced include Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton<\/a>) as woodland fairy Silky, Nonso Anozie (Sweet Tooth<\/a>) as group leader Moonface and Dustin Demri-Burns (Slow Horses<\/a>) as Saucepan Man. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rounding out the cast will be Mark Heap (Renegade Nell<\/a>) as Mr. Oom Boom Boom and Oliver Chris (My Lady Jane<\/a>) as Mr Watzisname, while Sir Lenny Henry (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power<\/a>), Michael Palin (The Death of Stalin) and Simon Russell Beale (House of the Dragon<\/a>) will play a trio of mystical wise men from the Land of Know-Alls.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film will follow Polly, Tim and their children, Beth, Joe and Fran, as they find themselves forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. There, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric occupants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The adaptation is being written by Wonka<\/a> scribe Simon Farnaby, while Black Ops helmer Ben Gregor will direct. Filming is set to start this June.<\/span><\/p>\n
