BBC Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore has paid tribute to the beloved journalist and broadcaster. <\/p>
The BBC\u2019s Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore was among those to pay tribute to \u201cbrilliant science broadcaster and programme maker\u201d Michael Mosley, following confirmation of his death aged 67.<\/p>\n
Mosley went missing after embarking on a walk on the Greek island of Symi<\/a> on Wednesday (5th June) \u2013 a body was later discovered following a four-day search operation, with Mosley\u2019s wife Clare Bailey Mosley confirming that her husband had passed away.<\/p>\n In a statement, she wrote: \u201cI don\u2019t know quite where to begin with this. It\u2019s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband. We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together.<\/p>\n \u201cI am incredibly proud of our children, their resilience and support over the past days.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to say that the family has been \u201chugely comforted by the outpouring of love from people from around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s clear that Michael meant a huge amount to so many of you,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel so lucky to have our children and my amazing friends. Most of all, I feel so lucky to have had this life with Michael.\u201d<\/p>\n A television journalist, producer and presenter, Mosley was known for his work on health and science documentaries. He initially trained as a doctor but transitioned to a media career, gaining recognition for his ability to make complex scientific concepts accessible to the general public.<\/p>\n Mosley\u2019s most notable contributions included his work with the BBC on programming such as Trust Me, I\u2019m a Doctor and The Truth About Exercise. He was also known for popularising the 5:2 diet, a form of intermittent fasting, through his documentary Eat, Fast and Live Longer and subsequent books on the subject.<\/p>\n Mosley was also a regular contributor on ITV\u2019s This Morning \u2013 in a post on X, the show said its staff were \u201cheartbroken\u201d by his loss.<\/p>\n We\u2019re all heartbroken to hear that Michael Mosley has died at the age of 67.
