After a critically acclaimed theatre run, the manga musical adaptation is heading back to the West End. <\/p>
Your Lie in April, one of the most popular manga series of all time, is transferring to the Harold Pinter Theatre after a sold-out run at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.<\/p>\n
This great tearjerker is based on the Your Lie in April manga series by Naoshi Arakawa, which has sold over seven million copies. Not only that, it has also been adapted into a TV series as well as a live-action film.<\/p>\n
The story follows Ko\u0304sei Arima, a piano prodigy who loses his ability to play after the death of his mother. In the aftermath, he meets and befriends violinist Kaori Miyazono, who slowly reintroduces music to his life, encouraging him to play again.<\/p>\n
While musical adaptations of popular manga series are a relatively new concept, they\u2019ve already proven to be a popular one. Death Note the Musical in Concert had 10 sold-out runs on the West End, while Your Lie in April\u2019s original theatre run earned a slew of five-star reviews.<\/p>\n
