Hardy was one of France’s most-loved singer-songwriters. <\/p>
French singer and actor Fran\u00e7oise Hardy has died at the age of 80 after a long battle with cancer, it has been confirmed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Hardy\u2019s death was announced by her son, musician Thomas Dutronc, on Instagram. He shared a baby photo of himself with Hardy, writing alongside: \u201c<\/span>Mum is gone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n While a cause of death hasn\u2019t been announced, in 2021 Hardy said she felt \u201cclose to the end\u201d of her life, and revealed that in 2018 she\u2019d been diagnosed with laryngeal cancer, which followed her diagnosis with lymphatic cancer back in 2004.<\/span><\/p>\n Hardy rose to prominence with the <\/span>1962 hit Tous les gar\u00e7ons et les filles, which topped the singles charts in France.<\/span><\/p>\n With successful follow-up singles <\/span>Je Suis D\u2019Accord and Le Temps de L\u2019Amour, Hardy soon cemented <\/span>her position as one of France\u2019s most-loved pop stars, and inspired the likes of Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger.<\/span><\/p>\n As well as French, Hardy also performed in English, German and Italian.
