Ferrell joins the ranks of Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt and Kumail Nanjiani in playing himself on the show. <\/p>

The Boys has seen a number of celebrities cameo over the years. Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks, Kumail Nanjiani and more have played themselves, while perhaps the show\u2019s biggest coup was getting Charlize Theron for its season 3 premiere.<\/p>\n

Now, with the first three episodes of season 4<\/a> available to stream, another famous face has joined their ranks \u2013 Will Ferrell.<\/p>\n

Ferrell shows up at the start of the second episode, in a scene where A-Train is in the midst of filming his new movie, Training A-Train.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s soon revealed that Ferrell is starring in the movie as A-Train\u2019s coach, who warns him against throwing away his talents to \u201csling yayo for gang-bangers\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ferrell\u2019s coach tells him that he can \u201ceither outrun this life, or you can run yourself into an early grave\u201d, before the director calls cut, telling Ferrell his performance has given him \u201cliteral tears\u201d in his eyes.<\/p>\n

The director goes on to tell Ferrell that he smells \u201can Oscar nomination\u201d for his performance, before he goes on to critique A-Train, who tells him that his brother was a waiter, not a drug dealer, and he\u2019s the only coach he ever had.<\/p>\n
