For those excited to dive straight into the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC<\/a>, hold your horses, as you need to defeat the Elden Ring<\/a> boss Mohg first \u2013 so sit down and have a read of our guide, which goes over their location, how to get there and ultimately how to defeat them.<\/p>\n

Amusingly, 62 per cent of players are yet to pull off such a feat, meaning they don\u2019t meet the DLC requirements<\/a> until they do, as reported by Paul Tassie for Forbes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Given how much the DLC costs<\/a>, you may want to gear up with the best Elden Ring weaponry<\/a> and get straight to it.<\/p>\n

We say that, but like much in the Lands Between, nothing is ever that simple for The Tarnished. With our guide, though, you stand a fighting chance.<\/p>\n

Read on then, intrepid reader, and be sure to pick up all the Smithing Stones<\/a> you can find on the way!<\/p>\n

Where is Mohg located in Elden Ring?<\/b><\/h2>\n\nMohg, the Lord of Blood is located in the Mohgwyn Palace<\/b>.<\/p>\nThere are a couple of ways to get there, with the first requiring you to obtain the Haligtree Secret Medallion and use it at the Grand Lift of Rold to take you down to the Palace.<\/p>\nThis lift will take you to the Consecrated Snowfield, and a gateway teleporter can be found northwest of the Yelough Anix Ruins.<\/p>\nHowever, the Haligtree Secret Medallion is split in half and requires two pieces to be put back together. Arekkz Gaming has a good detailed guide on YouTube on where to find them, which we\u2019ve included above.<\/p>\nAlternatively, you can follow the Varre quest early on in the game, which gives you the Pureblood Knight\u2019s Medal that can teleport you to Mohgwyn Palace, but if you are at a low level, we would advise waiting until later.<\/p>\n<h3>Where is the right half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion?<\/strong><\/h3>\nThe right-hand piece is in the possession of Albus in the Village of the Albinaurics<\/strong>.<\/p>\nYou can find them by hitting a pot he is hiding in close to the Site of Grace. Be careful not to hit too many times, as you can accidentally strike Albus, causing them to be hostile.<\/p>\nIf you do, you can kill them and still obtain the right-hand piece.<\/p>\n<h3>Where is the left half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion?<\/strong><\/h3>\nThe left-hand piece can be found at the very end of Castle Sol on its tallest turret<\/strong>.<\/p>\nYou need to work your way through the castle and take the lift up to find the right-hand piece.<\/p>\nThere are boss fights at both of these locations, though, so be sure to have a high-level character.<\/p> <h2>How to beat Mohg in Elden Ring<\/b><\/h2>\nDuring the fight, Mohg will use attacks that cause Blood Loss build-up, such as the Bloodflame attack. You will want to avoid these at all costs, as they will whittle away at your health if you don\u2019t.<\/p>\nLike many Elden Ring bosses, the Mohg boss battle is split up into phases. There are two for Mohg, with the first lasting until Mohg is at 50 per cent health, before the second absolutely brutal phase begins.<\/p>\nDuring the transition, Mohg casts three red marks that appear over your character\u2019s head. When he proclaims \u201cNihil!\u201d, one of the marks disappears, as well as a huge chunk of your health. Countering this is key, and we\u2019ve got two methods to do just that.<\/p>\nFirst, you want to reduce the amount of damage taken by mixing the Purifying Crystal Tear into the Flask of Wondrous Physick<\/strong>. This will greatly dampen the amount of hurt you will endure, and means you won\u2019t have to heal as much.<\/p>\nYou can also just heal in between the attacks, and this is best done by finding all the Sacred Tears to spec up your Flask of Crimson Tears to +12.<\/p>\n[squirrel-affiliate-playlist squirrel_playlist_id=\u201d653\u2033 \/]<\/p>\nThere is also Mohg\u2019s Shackle, which allows you to pin them in place and land a critical hit<\/strong>.
