The anticipated sequel<\/a> to Inside Out racked up an impressive \u00a311,307,593\u00a0<\/span>at the UK & Ireland box office, which accounted for 71% of all ticket sales across the three-day weekend. And you\u2019re right in thinking those figures are staggering, as Inside Out 2 has achieved the biggest box office opening since\u00a0<\/span>Barbie.<\/p>\n The film also generated the biggest ever Saturday in the UK and Ireland for any Pixar<\/a> film, which is a staggering feat when you think of all the Pixar classics over the years including the likes of Up<\/a>, Ratatouille<\/a> and The Incredibles<\/a>, to name a few.<\/span><\/p>\n In fact, Inside Out 2 had the third biggest opening weekend for a Pixar film, coming in behind<\/span>\u00a0<\/i><\/span>Toy Story 3<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Toy Story 4<\/span><\/a>.<\/span> So, it\u2019s safe to say that the new movie is going down a storm with audiences young and old.<\/span><\/p>\n On a wider scale, the sequel opened to an estimat<\/span>ed\u00a0<\/span>$295.0 million over the weekend, which makes it the highest global animated opening of all time.<\/p>\n The film has achieved some pretty stellar reviews so far, with RadioTimes.com<\/a><\/strong> bestowing it with an impressive four stars<\/a> and saying that the film takes place against \u201can endlessly inventive backdrop of out-there imaginings of the inner workings of a young girl\u2019s mind, rich in colour, texture and a steady stream of sight gags.\u201d<\/p>\n The film\u2019s official synopsis reads: \u201cDisney and Pixar\u2019s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as Headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cJoy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who\u2019ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren\u2019t sure how to feel when Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassment show up.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The voice cast of the film is also equally as grand, with the likes of <\/span>Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman and Liza Lapira all voicing characters as well as Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith and Ayo Edebiri.<\/span><\/p>\n The rest of the cast also includes Lilimar, Grace Lu, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, Ad\u00e8le Exarchopoulos, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Paul Walter Hauser and Yvette Nicole Brown. \u00a0<\/span><\/p> The familiar characters from the original film are joined by new emotions Anxiety, Embarrassment, Envy and Ennui as Riley becomes a teenager. However, there are some omissions from the second run, with director Kelsey Man<\/a> revealing he chose to cut Guilt, Jealousy and Shame from Inside Out 2.<\/p>\n Chatting exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/strong> about this, Mann said: \u201cIt\u2019s all about, like, are they right for telling this story? Are there too many?<\/p>\n \u201cBecause the main one was always Anxiety. And I wanted other ones to show up, too.
