The countdown to the Gavin & Stacey<\/a> finale is on, with fans desperate to find out how it will all come to an end, and how that proposal cliffhanger will be resolved this Christmas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, they shouldn\u2019t be expecting any spoilers to get out and ruin the fun anytime soon, as the BBC\u2019s director of comedy has revealed that even he hasn\u2019t read the final script.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the BBC\u2019s Comedy Showcase earlier this week, Jon Petrie said that James Corden and Ruth Jones have come up with \u201ca brilliant idea and a brilliant story\u201d for the final episode, but that they are currently keeping the script under lock and key.<\/p>\n

He said, as reported by the MailOnline<\/a>: \u201cI genuinely still haven\u2019t seen the script, James and Ruth won\u2019t let us look at it yet. Which I think is great, they are really keeping it under wraps and don\u2019t want people to see it outside of their very, very tight circle until they\u2019re 100 per cent certain of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He continued: \u201cI think it will be hard when they are filming it because it\u2019s such a huge show and everyone will want to watch, everyone in all the locations where it\u2019s shot, it will be obvious what\u2019s being shot.<\/p>\n

\u201cI suppose you have to take it as a compliment that it means so much to so many people.\u201d<\/p>\n
