\u201cThey were not initially, I think, as true to the book as they needed to be,\u201d Holly Jackson told RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press.<\/p>\n \u201cSo we worked a lot on bringing that back because I knew that the reason the books are where they are is because of the readers, and if we made a show that they weren\u2019t happy with, we\u2019re kind of screwing ourselves over there.\u201d<\/p>\n But Jackson, who\u2019s an executive producer on the show, did say that learning to relinquish control was something she had to practice.<\/p>\n \u201cIn TV world, you have to let go a little bit because it takes a whole village to make every little thing and if I was there being like, \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t like that lighting,\u2019 I\u2019ve got a reputation for myself,\u201d she explained. \u201cSo you need to let go at some point.\u201d<\/p>\n Jackson went on to say that she\u2019s \u201cquite nervous for it to come out and see the reactions\u201d, but is \u201ccautiously optimistic\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cSo far the reactions to everything, like our casting, our snippets, our teaser trailer, have all been good,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m very happy with our final product.
