With England having come top in its group at the 2024 Euros<\/a>, they now heads towards the knockouts, with their next match set to take place on Sunday 30th June.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not yet known which team the side will take on, but after performances against Demark and Slovenia<\/a>\u00a0have been criticised by fans, Gareth Southgate\u2019s side will be looking to pull something extra out of the bag.<\/p>\n

As the team prepare themselves for their next match, we have now learned that midfielder Phil Foden has left the camp in Germany and returned home to the UK.<\/p>\n

It is hoped that he will be back with the squad in time for Sunday\u2019s match, but why has he left? Here\u2019s everything you need to know.<\/p>\n

Why has Phil Foden left England\u2019s Euros 2024 squad?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It was announced on Wednesday 26th June that Foden, the 24-year-old midfielder who plays for Manchester City, had left the Three Lions\u2019 Euro 2024 camp in Germany to return to the UK.<\/p>\n

The Football Association announced the news in a statement, saying he was returning home because of a \u201cpressing family matter\u201d. It has since been reported that this is because of the birth of his third child.<\/p>\n

Foden and his partner Rebecca Cooke have two children, a son Ronnie, age five, and a daughter True, age two. They announced in April that they were expecting their third child.<\/p>\n
