Umbreon is one of the best Dark-type Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> in the game, and one of the easiest to get hold of \u2013 as long as you know how.<\/p>\n

As of writing, there are two different ways in which you can get an Umbreon in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/a>, and both will require you to build up 25 Eevee Candies.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, you\u2019ll get a bunch of Eevee Candies after catching the Normal-type Pok\u00e9mon which appear on your walks often enough.<\/p>\n

Make an Eevee<\/a> your Buddy, too, and you\u2019ll earn Eevee Candies when you walk with it.<\/p>\n

With all of that out of the way, here\u2019s how to get Umbreon in Pok\u00e9mon Go explained.<\/p>\n

How to get Umbreon in Pok\u00e9mon Go explained<\/b><\/h2>\n

There are two ways to get an Umbreon in Pok\u00e9mon Go.<\/p>\n

One way is by giving an Eevee the nickname \u2018Tamao\u2019, and the other is by becoming friendly with an Eevee set as your Buddy and evolving it at night<\/b>.<\/p>\n

How to get an Umbreon with the name trick<\/b><\/h3>\n

You can evolve an Eevee with 25 Eevee Candies after naming it \u2018Tamao\u2019.<\/p>\n

Simply head into your in-game Pok\u00e9mon list, locate the Eevee you wish to evolve into an Umbreon and give it the nickname Tamao.<\/p>\n

To do this, follow these steps:<\/p>\n

  • Open Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Head into your caught Pok\u00e9mon menu<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Find the Eevee you wish to evolve into an Umbreon \u2013 you can search for Eevee in the search bar to speed things up!<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Select the Eevee you want to evolve<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Press on the pencil icon next to where it says Eevee<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Delete Eevee\u2019s name and type in Tamao<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Press \u2018OK\u2019 to set Eevee\u2019s nickname as Tamao<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Once this is done, use 25 Eevee Candies to evolve Eevee into an Umbreon. The game should even show you a little shadow icon of Umbreon on the \u2018Evolve\u2019 button!<\/p>

    How to get an Umbreon without using the name trick<\/b><\/h3>\n

    You can get an Umbreon by evolving an Eevee you\u2019ve made your Buddy and walked 10km with<\/strong>. This means that you need to make the Eevee you want to evolve into an Umbreon your Buddy.<\/p>\n

    To make an Eevee (or any other Pok\u00e9mon) your current Buddy in Pok\u00e9mon Go, simply click on that Pok\u00e9mon, scroll down to the bottom of their page and hit \u2018Swap Buddies\u2019 \u2013 remember to press \u2018Yes\u2019 when it asks if you\u2019re sure you want to swap your Buddy.<\/p>\n

    Once Eevee is your Buddy, walk 10km with them.<\/p>\n

    Walk 10km and then evolve your Buddy Eevee at night<\/b> to get your desired Umbreon. Remember, you\u2019ll need 25 Eevee Candies to evolve it, but you\u2019ll get plenty from walking with them as your Buddy.<\/p>\n

    If you\u2019re unsure when nighttime is in Pok\u00e9mon Go, you\u2019ll see that the game tells you on Eevee\u2019s evolve section with a little symbol of the Moon. That\u2019s your cue.<\/p>\n
