They always seem so important. The Minecraft campfire is no different.

Crafting a campfire in Minecraft will help you to survive in a number of ways. You can cook food at a campfire, they produce light (perfect in a cave!), can melt snow, and can act as a guide to show you how to get back somewhere.

You can even place a campfire under a beehive or bee nest to harvest honey without getting stung.

Talk about useful.

Fortunately, making a campfire is a fairly simple process, if you know what to do and which materials you need.

Keep reading to find out how to craft a campfire in Minecraft and how to put out a campfire – you may need to extinguish one, who are we to judge?

Green Video Post Element
Video ID: "b5e2ff4e52aef139121f583f238b31cb776c12bb"
Mix ID: ""
Player ID: "Tw3-XowQ"

If the player doesn't appear here within a few seconds, the Player ID or Licence Key (set via IM Green Video settings) might be invalid.

<green-video embed-id="Tw3-XowQ" content-id="b5e2ff4e52aef139121f583f238b31cb776c12bb" mix-id=""/>

How to craft a campfire in Minecraft

Here are the materials that you will need to gather which will then need to be placed onto your crafting table.

Three wooden sticks

One coal or one charcoal

Three wooden blocks or logs

As for how you will need to set them out in the crafting table, here’s the order to add them.

Open up the grafting grid set to 3×3

Add one stick in the top middle square, one in the middle left, and the other middle right.

Add the coal right in the centre

Now the three logs fill up the bottom row.

Once the campfire is crafted, move it into your inventory section and that’s it, all done!

With regards to what you can do with a campfire, obviously, they produce light in an area which is their primary use but that’s not their only reason for being.
