And speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> ahead of the film\u2019s release, Bacon said that he \u201cloved\u201d getting the chance to work with Murphy, before going on to shower his co-star with praise.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a very relaxed and a very immediate sort of actor, you know, it\u2019s like\u2026 he feels like very unrehearsed and very real,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd that\u2019s good. Because I think that really keeps me on my toes, you know. I have to be ready for anything that he\u2019s going to, kind of, throw at me.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd yeah, it was really fun to be in scenes with him,\u201d he added. \u201cHe truly is a world icon, and I put him up there with working with [Jack] Nicholson and Meryl Streep, and, you know, [Clint] Eastwood. I\u2019ve worked with a lot of great, kind of, iconic people and he\u2019s definitely one of them.\u201d<\/p>\n Another actor who was delighted to star opposite Murphy in the new film was Joseph Gordon-Levitt \u2013 who plays Axel\u2019s new partner Detective Sam Abbott and who had admired the actor for as long as he can remember.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWhen I was a little kid, it was my older brother that was a massive fan of Eddie Murphy,\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd he would watch him on Saturday Night Live or watch his stand up comedy or in movies like Beverly<\/span> Hills<\/span> Cop \u2013<\/span> and I was probably too young really to be watching those things.<\/p>\n \u201cBut your older sibling, the stuff they like takes on a certain mystique,\u201d he continued. \u201cYou know, there\u2019s an aura\u2026 it\u2019s a little bit forbidden. But it makes it all the more attractive and cool.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd so for me, Eddie Murphy is emblematic of that feeling of wanting to understand and like the stuff that my older brother liked.
