Sherwood’s Robert Glenister plays a disgruntled cabbie who develops an unhealthy obsession with a DJ. <\/p>
Upcoming Channel 5 drama The Night Caller looks set to be a tense watch, with a preview exclusive to RadioTimes.com<\/a> teasing what\u2019s in store for the Liverpool-set thriller.<\/p>\n In it, Sherwood\u2019s Robert Glenister plays lonely cabbie Tony, who works nights since losing his teaching job \u2013 and his marriage.<\/p>\n The few bright spots in his life come in the shape of cafe-worker Rosa (Suzanne Packer) and radio DJ Lawrence (Sean Pertwee), whose late-night talk show can be heard in the background of the clip above while Tony watches Rosa get seemingly harassed.<\/p>\n Before things escalate, however, he gets out of his cab and slams the door, providing a distraction.<\/p> \u201cBecause you know what happens when you keep it all in, there comes a point when you just explode,\u201d Lawrence says towards the end of the preview.<\/p>\n Judging by Tony\u2019s expression, it looks like he\u2019s more than ready to blow his top.<\/p>\n The series will see the cabbie develop a bond with the DJ after calling in to the show, but things take a dark turn when he realises Lawrence isn\u2019t who he purports to be.<\/p>\n An exclusive trailer<\/a> gave us a glimpse at just how dark things will get, with Tony set to take his warped sense of justice into his own hands. But how far will he go?
