\u201cI think it was interesting making this film, knowing that it was part three and knowing that people were kind of expecting it,\u201d he explained. \u201cBecause the other two we made at the same time. There\u2019s a little bit more, I don\u2019t know if pressure is the right word, but like self-awareness while you\u2019re doing it.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I did want it to be a standalone movie that it felt like it had its own ending. But I also wanted to sort of wrap up the thematic\u2026 or the vibe, I should say, of the trilogy as a whole. And so, you know, I felt pretty good about it by the time I put it down.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n<\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/picture>\n<\/div>With each of the films having a very distinct style inspired by different periods of Hollywood history, there is sure to be debate among fans as to which of the best of the trilogy \u2013 with cinemagoers already fairly divided as to whether they prefer X or Pearl.<\/p>\n
And West says that watching those debates is one of the most rewarding things about having made the trilogy \u2013 even though he hopes viewers will like all of them equally.<\/p>\n
Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI think that\u2019s the fun of the trilogy,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd for me, that\u2019s kind of the satisfaction of making something where, you know, we\u2019ve made these two sequels. And they\u2019re very different from one another.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd so, you know, there\u2019s plenty of people that I see argue online, or something, about how X is so much better than Pearl or people like, \u2018You\u2019re crazy, Pearl is so much better than X.\u2019 And I\u2019m sure people will say the same thing about MaXXXine.<\/p>\n \u201cOr, you know, \u2018This one\u2019s terrible, that one\u2019s great.\u2019 I mean, that\u2019s kind of the fun discourse\u2026 I mean, of course, I would love for everyone to like them all very much. Because it\u2019s always nice to have people like things. But there\u2019s something fun about it\u2026 there being a little bit for everybody in each of the movies.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cAnd I think the movies complement each other. I don\u2019t think you need to see each movie to appreciate the other one, I think they enrich each other.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s better as a whole to see what I\u2019m up to if you watch all three, but if many months or many years from now, one of these movies pops on TV and you find yourself keep watching, because you\u2019re just like, \u2018Oh, right. I haven\u2019t seen this in a while.
