While George RR Martin is \u201cnot usually a fan\u201d of screenwriters adding characters when \u201cadapting a story\u201d, a new addition in the second season of House of the Dragon<\/a> has his approval.<\/span><\/p>\n Writing on his blog<\/a>, the Song of Ice and Fire author praised the introduction of a small dog, which he described as \u201cbrilliant\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI was prepared to hate Cheese (Mark Stobbart), but I hated him even more when he kicked that dog,\u201d said Martin.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>And later, when the dog sat at his feet, gazing up\u2026 that damn near broke my heart. <\/span>Such a little thing\u2026 such a little dog\u2026 but his presence, the few short moments he was on screen, gave the rat catcher so much humanity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He added: \u201cHuman beings are such complex creatures.
