As filming on the new episodes takes place in the Cotswolds, it has been confirmed that not only will Lorna Watson be back in the habit as the crime-solving nun for season 4, but the show will also have a feature-length Christmas special, which will air this December.<\/p>\n
Watson will be joined in the special and the new season by returning cast members Max Brown, Jerry Iwu and Ami Metcalf, who play DI Sam Gillespie, DS Felix Livingstone and WPC Peggy Button, respectively.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, among the guest stars featuring in season 4 will be Les Dennis (Coronation Street<\/a>), Katherine Kingsley (The Larkins), Martyn Ellis (Renegade Nell<\/a>), Mina Anwar (The Sarah Jane Adventures<\/a>), Ed Birch (The Witcher<\/a>) and Daniel Laurie (Call the Midwife<\/a>).<\/p>\n Watson said in a statement: \u201cIt\u2019s brilliant to be back with the gang for series four. I feel very lucky to be part of such a lovely show and can\u2019t wait to get cracking, solving crime in the Cotswolds sunshine.\u201d<\/p>\n Sister Boniface Mysteries first started airing in 2021, after Watson\u2019s character was introduced in the sixth episode of Father Brown season 1, which aired in 2013. She later re-appeared in Father Brown for one episode in this year\u2019s season 11, while the third season of Sister Boniface Mysteries is currently airing.<\/p>\n The official synopsis for the upcoming Christmas special, and the show\u2019s fourth season, says: \u201cReturning by popular demand, this year\u2019s feature length festive special features the Great Slaughter Amateur Dramatics Society (GSADS) pantomime.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThis year it\u2019s Cinderella and with the appointment of a celebrity director the pressure is on to deliver their biggest and best performance yet.<\/p>\n \u201cRehearsals commence but soon cast members start dropping like flies.
