Changing Ends season 2 premiered on ITV1 tonight, with the acclaimed sitcom ending on a sombre note as it paid tribute to Alan Carr\u2019s late co-writer, Simon Carlyle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to working on the first season of Carr\u2019s autobiographical series, alongside the stand-up comic himself, Carlyle was also well known in the television industry for creating Scottish sitcom Two Doors Down<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His passing came as a complete surprise last summer, with notable names being quick to pay their respects, including BBC Scotland\u2019s Louise Thornton, who described him as a \u201cmajor writing talent\u201d.<\/p>\n

In statements released to press, Changing Ends<\/a> star Carr as well as producer Mollie Freedman Berthoud and director Dave Lambert discussed how difficult it was to return to work without their \u201cmuch missed friend\u201d.<\/p>\n
