Nasty Nish has been trying to build bridges with his family since his terminal diagnosis. <\/p>
Navin Chowdhry \u2013 who plays EastEnders<\/a> villain \u2018Nasty\u2019 Nish Panesar \u2013 has revealed that his character has one weakness: he \u201cgenuinely cares\u201d about his grandchildren.<\/p>\n Since debuting on the soap back in 2022, Nish has been heavily involved in some extremely dramatic storylines \u2013 including the attempted murder of his ex-wife Suki \u2013 and he recently returned to Albert Square after a three month absence with the news that he is dying of viral myocarditis.<\/span><\/p>\n Since his comeback, he has made it clear that he wants to build bridges with his grandchildren and appeared to win the forgiveness of sons Vinny and Ravi, even as his relationship with the family remains understandably strained.<\/p>\n Speaking at the first RadioTimes.com<\/a>\u00a0Soap Awards sponsored by\u00a0Inspired Villages<\/a> \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>where he won the award for Best Villain \u2013 Chowdhry explained: \u201cWhen it comes to the grandkids he genuinely cares.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked about Nish\u2019s own children, he continued: \u201cI think because his life has been so separate from them, the bond is arguably different to a normal father\/child relationship, you could argue.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I think there\u2019s such a loss and a longing to rediscover what he never experienced when he was in prison. At the same time in his head, in his mind, in his heart, they have to fall in line with what he wants.\u201d<\/p> He added: \u201cSo if anybody\u2026 we\u2019ve done little scenes here and there, where if anybody can perhaps get through to him on an emotional level, it is his grandkids.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/strong> last month, Chowdhry explained<\/a> that the character was \u201cmore dangerous than he\u2019s ever been\u201d since his diagnosis, owing to the fact that he now has nothing to lose.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n The\u00a0RadioTimes.com<\/span>\u00a0Soap Awards 2024, sponsored by Inspired Villages, took place on 13th July.
