While you might have been left frustrated by the ending of Suspect\u2019s second season<\/a>, one of its stars has described the decision not<\/em> to reveal who hired Jon (Dominic Cooper) to murder multiple young women as \u201cfantastic drama\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cIt means that you can have that ongoing for the next season<\/a>, that\u2019s the next story that\u2019s coming,\u201d said Nicholas Pinnock, who plays an ex-marine called Joseph who is a former patient of Susannah\u2019s (Anne-Marie Duff).<\/p>\n \u201cInstead of it being just one person, you\u2019ve got this organisation, so you have to find where the head is and cut that off. That takes a lot of chopping through the body to get there, and that keeps you gripped, it keeps you hooked.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n In season 2, it emerged that returning character Detective Inspector Richard Groves (Ben Miller) was seemingly on the payroll of the nefarious force behind the killings, although the reasons for that have yet to be made clear.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a bit more to it this time,\u201d said Miller of Grove\u2019s development ahead of the show\u2019s release.<\/p>\n \u201cIn season 1, it was kind of hard to figure out exactly where Richard stood in all of this. In this season, it\u2019s become a little more developed. You find out a little bit more about him, and\u2026 I really like it.\u201d<\/p>\n He went on to say that while Groves is an unremarkable character on the surface, he has an \u201cunderlying ambiguity\u201d that drew him in.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I find fascinating about him as a character is he\u2019s one of those people that you wouldn\u2019t spot in a crowd,\u201d said Miller. \u201cYou know, it\u2019s a kind of important thing, really \u2013 a certain kind of person who fades into the background.<\/p>\n \u201cSo it\u2019s interesting. It\u2019s like putting a spotlight on the sort of person who wouldn\u2019t go anywhere near the spotlight, usually.
