<\/p>
Nicola Coughlan says she wrapped her final Bridgerton<\/a> season two scenes last week \u2013 and has teased more of both Lady Whistledown, and of Penelope\u2019s \u201ccloser\u201d relationship with Colin Bridgerton.<\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> last Friday, 22nd October, Coughlan said that she was in her \u201cfinal week of filming\u201d for the Netflix<\/a> drama, and would be due to wrap on the Saturday.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m actually in my final week of shooting Bridgerton right now. So I\u2019m literally on the way to set right now\u2026 I\u2019m shooting all this like, big, heavy, dramatic stuff for the finale at the moment, [and] I wrap on 4:30am on Saturday,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Coughlan, who has a new audio scripted series \u2018Whistle Through The Shamrocks\u2019 out next month, stars in the Bridgerton cast<\/a>\u00a0as Penelope Featherington, who was revealed to be anonymous gossip writer Lady Whistledown in the final episode season one.<\/p>\n Asked whether season two will show us more of Lady Whistledown\u2019s secret life, she said: \u201cI think it\u2019s safe to say that you do. And you know, that final moments of series one was definitely a peek into her life. I think in series two you kind of see how the sausage gets made and all that\u2019s happening. I felt very lucky when I got given the script to series two, like when you\u2019re an actor in a show already\u2026 [and] they\u2019ve just given [me] so much good stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n Coughlan also teased that we\u2019ll see \u201crepercussions\u201d to Penelope\u2019s duplicity, potentially jeopardising her various friendships \u2013 including with Colin Bridgerton, whom she\u2019s grown \u201ccloser\u201d to.<\/p> She said: \u201cI think you know, she\u2019s certainly been lying to literally everyone in her life and I think you\u2019ll see the repercussions of that and I think you\u2019ll see she\u2019s not \u2013 I always say it\u2019s like a Britney Spears year, she\u2019s \u2018not a girl, not yet a woman\u2019. She definitely matures from series one. And I think she thinks she\u2019s much more a woman of the world than she actually is.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd her and Colin Bridgerton, you get to explore their relationship [in season two], they\u2019ve become closer in this sort of gap [since] we\u2019ve last seen them.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that this season \u201cEloise Bridgerton is debuting into society,\u201d which is \u201creally fun, because then Claudia Jessie and I get to [go to] the other balls together. She is just a joy and a delight, I love building scene with her.<\/p>\n \u201cBut it\u2019s definitely \u2013 the drama has amped up a lot. As I say, we\u2019re shooting all those big dramatic scenes for the end.
