{"id":6431,"date":"2021-10-29T01:01:21","date_gmt":"2021-10-28T23:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/?p=1483030"},"modified":"2021-10-29T01:33:08","modified_gmt":"2021-10-28T23:33:08","slug":"sas-who-dares-wins-hires-ex-us-special-forces-operators-to-replace-ant-middleton","status":"publish","type":"rss_feed","link":"https:\/\/c01.purpledshub.com\/radiotimes\/rss_feed\/sas-who-dares-wins-hires-ex-us-special-forces-operators-to-replace-ant-middleton\/","title":{"rendered":"SAS: Who Dares Wins hires ex-US special forces operators to replace Ant Middleton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rssexcerpt\"><\/p><p class=\"rssauthor\">By David Craig\n                \t\t<\/p><p class=\"rssbyline\">Published: Friday, 29 October 2021 at 12:00 am<\/p><hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/><?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>\n<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><body><p>Two former United States Special Forces operators have joined the Directing Staff behind Channel 4\u2019s intense competition series SAS: Who Dares Wins.<\/p>\n<p>A vacancy was left on the series after Ant Middleton announced his departure in March, describing his experience as \u201cincredible\u201d but adding that \u201cit\u2019s time to move on\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>We now know Rudy Reyes will step into the role of Chief Instructor, coming from a highly decorated career in the military, which includes time spent as a Recon Marine \u2013 an elite rank limited to just 300 troops.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, former Navy SEAL John Aderemi \u2018Remi Adeleke\u2019 has also joined the Directing Staff of the show, whose military experience includes 13 years on active duty.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Middleton\u2019s departure, Channel 4 has also confirmed to <a href=\"&quot;http:\/\/RadioTimes.com&quot;\">RadioTimes.com<\/a> that Melvyn Downes \u2013 who joined SAS: Who Dares Wins for its sixth series \u2013 has also exited the show and will not return in the forthcoming episodes, with the broadcaster thanking Downes for his \u201cvaluable contribution\u201d to both SAS: Who Dares Wins and its spin-off Celebrity\u00a0<span class=\"&quot;markvd1vh7phk&quot;\" data-markjs=\"&quot;true&quot;\" data-ogac=\"&quot;&quot;\" data-ogab=\"&quot;&quot;\" data-ogsc=\"&quot;&quot;\" data-ogsb=\"&quot;&quot;\">SAS<\/span>: Who Dares Wins.<\/p>\n<p>It has also been revealed that SAS: Who Dares Wins and its celebrity offshoot will be filmed in Jordan next year, where the extreme climate will make the challenges of the participants even more trying.<\/p> <p>Reyes said: \u201cTo be part of SAS: Who Dares Wins \u2013 the hardest selection course on television \u2013 is one the greatest privileges of my life. And to be named Chief Instructor is a huge honour \u2013 made even more rewarding working alongside Billy, Foxy and Remi \u2013 heroes on and off screen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adeleke added: \u201cSince I departed from the military in 2016 my main focus in life has been to inspire, motivate and educate people \u2014 whether through writing, speaking or visual storytelling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore I am very grateful to the SAS: Who Dares Wins team \u2013 especially my SOF brothers Billy, Foxy, Rudy \u2013 for allowing me to be a part of this unique, inspirational and transformative experience. And through this amazing show, I\u2019m looking forward to playing a role in changing the lives of many \u2018recruits\u2019 and viewers around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Continuing SAS: Who Dares Wins stars, Foxy (Jason Fox) and Billy (Mark Billingham), expressed their excitement at reconnecting with serviceman from across the pond, while promising \u201cnext level brutality\u201d in the series to come.<\/p>\n<p>SAS: Who Dares Wins has been recommissioned for a seventh series, while the celebrity spin-off will also be back for a fourth run, both of which are expected to air next year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SAS: Who Dares Wins will return to Channel 4 in 2022.
