There were beta tests for Apex Legends mobile in various countries (we were not one of them) earlier in the year and feedback has been positive \u2013 apparently, the touch screen mechanics are a joy to use.<\/p>\n
So here is all we know so far about Apex Legends mobile, including when we think we should be able to play it.<\/p>\n
When is the Apex Legends Mobile release date?<\/h2>\n
The Apex Legends Mobile release date has not been confirmed yet, at least for UK players, but we\u2019re hoping to see the handheld version launch in the final months of 2021. That is seemingly less likely as we head into November, so we could be looking at early 2022<\/strong>, but maybe Respawn has it in mind as a Christmas gift for us all?<\/p>\n The Google Play store page<\/a> for Apex Legends Mobile has gone live in Britain, but it simply invites players to pre-register if they want to join the beta. As we learn more, we\u2019ll let you know. We can\u2019t imagine it will be long until we find out when it will launch.<\/p>\n When the mobile version of Apex Legends made its first tentative steps into the world back in April 2021, Respawn explained on the FAQ section of its blog: \u201cWe\u2019ll be steadily rolling out Apex Legends Mobile around the world in a series of tests. To start with, we\u2019ll do a series of smaller closed beta tests in India and the Philippines. The first of these begins Spring 2021, and will only be available on Android devices.\u201d<\/p>\n More regions will follow at a later date, as will iOS support for iPhone users. As and when we get some firm dates, we\u2019ll be sure to update this page and let you know. We\u2019re still waiting on an Apex Legends Mobile trailer, too.<\/p>\n Apex Legends<\/a> Game Director Chad Grenier said in a blog post:<\/a>\u00a0\u201cBeginning later this month, we\u2019re kicking off the first regional beta tests for Apex Legends Mobile. This is a huge moment for our team. Two years ago we changed the landscape of the battle royale genre, and now we\u2019re aiming to do it again on mobile.\u201d<\/p>\n Respawn has opted against crossplay in this instance, announcing on its FAQ page: \u201cBecause Apex Legends Mobile is being built especially for mobile, it won\u2019t feature cross-play with the console or PC versions of Apex Legends.\u201d So mobile players will be playing against other mobile players, rather than intermingling with gamers on other platforms.<\/p>\n Respawn is also keen to stress that \u201cthe best is yet to come for PC and console players\u201d, with a lot of new content on the way, including \u201cone of the biggest updates we\u2019ve ever shipped for Apex Legends\u201d. There will be Battle Passes, cosmetics and other things you can buy, though, some of which will be exclusive to this new mobile version of the game.<\/p>\n There is an Apex Legends mobile trailer, but it is very much on the brief side.
