Lady Gaga has described the \u201cpsychological difficulty\u201d she experienced after staying in character while filming her role in House of Gucci.<\/p>\n

The singer-actress, real name Stefani Germanotta, takes on the role of the infamous socialite Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott\u2019s epic dynastic drama.<\/p>\n

Reggiani earned notoriety when she had her husband Maurizio Gucci, heir to the Gucci fashion dynasty, murdered in 1995.<\/p>\n

In the film, Maurizio is played by Star Wars<\/a> actor Adam Driver, while the cast also features Eternals<\/a> star Salma Hayek, Morbius<\/a> actor Jared Leto and Sir Jeremy Irons.<\/p>\n

Now, Gaga has revealed that her latest role saw her take great pains to try and nail her performance in House of Gucci.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is three years since I started working on it and I will be fully honest and transparent: I lived as her for a year and a half. And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that,\u201d the singer-actress told British Vogue.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cOff camera, I never broke. I stayed with her. It was nearly impossible for me to speak in the accent as a blonde. I instantly had to dye my hair, and I started to live in a way whereby anything that I looked at, anything that I touched, I started to take notice of where and when I could see money.\u201d<\/p>

However, the American Horror Story<\/a> star has revealed that her method acting caused her some difficulties by the end of the shoot.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had some psychological difficulty at one point towards the end of filming,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI was either in my hotel room, living and speaking as Reggiani, or I was on set, living and speaking as her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The singer recalled walking in Italy and panicking as she felt she was still on a movie set.<\/p>\n
