Marvel fans continue to be spoiled by Disney Plus in 2021.<\/p>\n
The streamer\u2019s fourth live-action series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to arrive later this month in the form of Hawkeye.<\/a><\/p>\n Hot on the heels of the likes of WandaVision<\/a>, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier<\/a> and Loki<\/a>, this new series follows one of the founding members of the Avengers in the form of Clint Barton aka Hawkeye.<\/p>\n Jeremy Renner reprises his role as Barton during a festive season that sees his dark past as Ronin \u2013 as shown in Avengers: Endgame \u2013 come back to haunt him in chaotic fashion.<\/p>\n Amidst the drama, Barton teams up with a young female archer named Kate Bishop, played by Dickinson actress Hailee Steinfeld.<\/p>\n Also starring in the new series is The Conjuring<\/a> actress Vera Farmiga in the role of Kate\u2019s mother Eleanor, Fra Fee, Brian d\u2019Arcy James, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Alaqua Cox, and returning Black Widow<\/a> actress Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova.<\/p> Competition:\u00a0Win one of a hundred Disney Plus annual subscriptions<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n For more on why Yelena pops up in this show, check out our Black Widow end credits scene explained.<\/a><\/p>\n So, as the first reactions to Hawkeye from the privileged few that have seen it pour in, here\u2019s what is being said about the new series.<\/p>\n Could it be Marvel\u2019s next big hit?<\/p>\n The reactions are in from critics and social media figures who have seen the first two episodes of Hawkeye, and the response so far has been very positive.<\/p>\n Special praise has been singled out for Steinfeld for her debut as Bishop.<\/p>\n Writer Richard Newby said on Twitter: \u201cHawkeye is good, Christmasy fun.
