{"id":7129,"date":"2021-11-13T21:11:01","date_gmt":"2021-11-13T20:11:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/?p=1503784"},"modified":"2021-11-13T21:30:08","modified_gmt":"2021-11-13T20:30:08","slug":"rhys-breaks-strictly-record-with-earliest-40-score-for-charleston","status":"publish","type":"rss_feed","link":"https:\/\/c01.purpledshub.com\/radiotimes\/rss_feed\/rhys-breaks-strictly-record-with-earliest-40-score-for-charleston\/","title":{"rendered":"Rhys breaks Strictly record with earliest 40 score for Charleston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rssexcerpt\"><\/p><p class=\"rssauthor\">By Laura Denby\n                \t\t<\/p><p class=\"rssbyline\">Published: Saturday, 13 November 2021 at 12:00 am<\/p><hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/><?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>\n<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><body><p>A new <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/programme\/b-n1cly7\/strictly-come-dancing\/&quot;\">Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> record was broken\u00a0 tonight, as Rhys Stephenson and partner Nancy Xu became the first couple to earn a top score for a Charleston this early in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Rhys was overwhelmed as Craig Revel Horwood, who is notoriously difficult to impress, branded the performance \u201cAmazing\u201d, and he and Nancy were thrilled when the scores revealed a unanimous four 10s.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not the first time this series that the contestants have made history, as Rose and Giovanni previously earned the earliest ever score of 40 in Strictly history during Halloween week.<\/p>\n<p>Following this triumph, John and Johannes earned three 10s, earning a place below Rhys and Nancy on the leaderboard.<\/p> <p>Motsi Mabusi said that it was the \u201cCharleston of the season!\u201d while Shirley Ballas was so impressed with the performance, she admitted: \u201cI want to dance with you!\u201d before complimenting Nancy on her choreopgraphy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou absolutely smashed the place up!\u201d Anton added, before Craig gushed \u201cAh-maze-ing!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This perfect score automatically put Rhys at the top of the <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/entertainment\/strictly-come-dancing-leaderboard-2021-whos-top-in-week-8\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard<\/a>. Viewers will get a chance to vote for their favourite couple, and the results will be revealed on Sunday night\u2019s show.<\/p>\n<p>The two <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/entertainment\/strictly-come-dancing-2021-couples-partners-revealed-newsupdate\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Strictly Come Dancing couples<\/a> with the lowest votes will end up in the dance off, after which the <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/entertainment\/talent-shows\/strictly-come-dancing-2020-judges\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Strictly Come Dancing judges<\/a> will have to decide who they want to keep in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>With a perfect 40, we expect Rhys to keep his spot and sail through to the show\u2019s coveted Musicals Weeks, but this is Strictly, and anything can happen\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday on BBC One.
