This is the question that I want to ask everybody living in the midst of the pandemic in the 21st century.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hwang continued: \u201cViolence in the show looks very lifelike, but it is figurative and allegorical,\u201d adding that those violent scenes are intended to \u201cmirror people who run into a dead end after failing to survive the competitive society\u201d.<\/p> <p>The South Korean filmmaker recently confirmed a Squid Game season two, telling <a href=\"\/\/twitter.com\/APEntertainment\/status\/1458060909319004170&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Associated Press<\/a> that fans left him with \u201cno choice\u201d but to bring Squid Game back for a second run.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will indeed be a second season. It\u2019s in my head right now. I\u2019m in the planning process currently. But I do think it\u2019s too early to say when and how that\u2019s going to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The survival drama became Netflix\u2019s <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/squid-game-biggest-netflix-launch-newsupdate\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">biggest show launch ever<\/a> when it arrived on our screens at the end of September, catapulting South Korean star Lee Jung-jae (who led the <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/squid-game-cast-netflix\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Squid Game cast<\/a>) to global fame.<\/p>\n<p>It originally took Hwang over <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/squid-game-creator-10-years-make-netflix-series-newsupdate\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">10 years to get Squid Game to our screens<\/a>, which would explain why the show was originally advertised as a limited series only.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Squid Game is now available to watch on Netflix.
