<\/p>
Doctor Who: Flux<\/a>\u2018s latest episode was hailed as \u201cepic\u201d and \u201cbreathtaking\u201d<\/a> by fans, but it didn\u2019t fare quite so well in the overnight ratings.<\/p>\n In what has become a tradition for series 13, Village of the Angels<\/a> ended in a cliffhanger, with Jodie Whittaker\u2019s fate left up in the air and shocking viewers.<\/p>\n It was a welcome change to last week\u2019s Once, Upon Time<\/a> \u2013 which received more mixed reviews \u2013 in large part thanks to returning villains the Weeping Angels.<\/p>\n Despite ticking every box in Doctor Who fans\u2019 wishlist, the episode wasn\u2019t able to improve on a gradual ratings decline across the course of the series, ending up with 3.45 million viewers on the night \u2013 down from 3.76m last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n The biggest show of the night was, of course, the I\u2019m A Celebrity 2021<\/a> premiere, although that also struggled to hit the heights set by its launch show last year.<\/p> BBC News\u2019 Entertainment Correspondent Lizo Mzimba posted last night\u2019s ratings on Twitter, revealing that though the ITV reality show was the most-watched programme, figures were down from 2020.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m A Celebrity on ITV launched with 8.03 million viewers. A big figure, but significantly down from 2020\u2019s launch (during lockdown) of 10.93m,\u201d Mzimba tweeted<\/a>. \u201cDoctor Who was 3.45m, a drop of a million since the series opener.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the drop, Doctor Who should fare well in catch-up views, with the final consolidated figures to be revealed at a later date.<\/p>\n Read more about Doctor Who:<\/strong><\/p>\n Doctor Who continues on Sundays on BBC One.
