<\/p>
As we get closer to the Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> final, the competition is getting even fiercer and the line-up is being cut down to what should be the best dancers on the show.<\/p>\n However, some fans have debated whether the right person has been sent home.<\/p>\n Take last weekend, for instance, which saw Tom Fletcher<\/a> become the latest contestant to be eliminated from Strictly 2021<\/a>, following a dance off against Rhys Stephenson.<\/p>\n Following Tom\u2019s exit, Strictly fans said the wrong person went home<\/a>, with some suggesting that\u00a0Dan Walker<\/a>, who came last on the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard<\/a> that week, should have been the one to go.<\/p>\n Our columnist and former Strictly pro Ian Waite disagrees, however, and isn\u2019t \u201csurprised\u201d Dan is still in the series.<\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Waite explained:\u00a0\u201cDan\u2019s not a dancer. He\u2019s never danced before. He is one of the celebs who has come into this with no experience whatsoever and I think that\u2019s what people love because he\u2019s giving it a go.<\/p>\n \u201cNo, he\u2019s not the most natural dancer obviously, because he\u2019s never had any experience of doing it, but he\u2019s improving week on week.\u201d<\/p>\n Waite believes viewers are keeping Dan on the show as they\u2019re able to identify with him, saying: \u201cYou can see the enjoyment in his face, and I\u2019m not surprised people are voting for him because they can empathise that he hasn\u2019t had any experience before and they can see improvement week on week.\u201d<\/p> Dan himself has addressed the criticism, previously writing on Twitter: \u201cI\u2019m well aware that some people are furious that I\u2019m still dancing, and that\u2019s fine.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He added: \u201cI have never posted any of the thousands of positive messages we get every single week but, in the interests of balance, thank you to everyone who sends stuff like this.
