The Good Morning Britain star was revealed to have left the camp on Wednesday night<\/a> due to feeling \u201cunwell\u201d and had visited hospital as a precaution.<\/p>\n However, Richard ultimately did not return to the camp in the castle.<\/p>\n Ahead of his time on I\u2019m A Celebrity, Richard voiced his hopes to not be the first to go home.<\/p>\n He explained: \u201cBut that\u2019s because I want to experience everything.\u201d<\/p>\n So, why exactly won\u2019t the beloved TV star be returning to the show?<\/p> A statement on 25th November from Richard Madeley confirmed his departure from the show and explained that he would not be returning due to COVID-19 safety protocols.<\/p>\n Richard revealed: \u201cFirstly just to say that I\u2019m absolutely FINE. I started to feel briefly unwell in the small hours of the morning and was taken to hospital as a precaution. By leaving the camp, I had consequently broken the COVID \u2018bubble\u2019 and as such I\u2019ve had to leave the castle and all the wonderful celebs that remain in the camp.<\/p>\n \u201cObviously I\u2019m gutted to be leaving so soon but the safety of all the campmates is the number one priority.
