Kathryn Hahn had a scene-stealing turn in Marvel\u2019s WandaVision<\/a> earlier this year, but she says that the upcoming Agatha Harkness spin-off<\/a>, Agatha: House of Harkness, came as a \u201ctotal surprise\u201d.<\/p>\n The actor, who can currently be seen in Apple\u2019s The Shrink Next Door<\/a>,\u00a0earned an Emmy nod for the role of Agatha Harkness<\/a>, the witch who posed as Wanda Maximoff\u2019s busybody neighbour in the limited series.<\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Hahn revealed that she\u2019d \u201cnever heard\u201d of Agatha before taking the part, but that the spin-off series was testament to the original show, WandaVision.<\/p>\n Noting that the spin-off \u201cwas a total surprise\u201d, she explained: \u201cI mean, you\u2019d have to be a deep diving\u2026 comic book aficionado to know Agatha Harkness from the comics. I had never heard of her before. And so the fact that this is happening is just testament to the incredible writing [and] the, you know, weird timing. It\u2019s so bananas.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cIt\u2019s going to be such a great, fun dive into [that world]\u2026 It\u2019s so meta that WandaVision was a show about sitcoms, and of course, it\u2019s going to have a spin-off. It just makes total sense, in a very meta way.\u201d<\/p>\n The song Agatha All Along<\/a> (during which Agatha revealed herself to be the show\u2019s villain) was also nominated for an Emmy \u2013 and has since picked up a Grammy nomination.<\/p>\n Hahn revealed that she had her fingers crossed the hit song will feature \u201csomewhere\u201d in House of Harkness, which is being teased as a dark comedy.<\/p>\n \u201cI have to tell you, even hearing the name of the show was a surprise to me and I love it so much,\u201d she said. \u201cSo [the producers] keep it really close. I\u2019m very excited to meet with them and hear what they\u2019re cooking up because I know it\u2019s going to be fabulous. It\u2019s our same producer and showrunner as WandaVision, who I think are such geniuses, so I\u2019m sure music clearly is a part of Agatha\u2019s soul \u2013 crossing my fingers that it\u2019s a part somewhere of that show as well.\u201d<\/p>\n The actor, who has also been cast in the upcoming Knives Out sequel<\/a>, went on to say that she has \u201czero idea\u201d whether the new Agatha spin-off series will have a similar tone to WandaVision, noting: \u201cIt could be completely its own bird. So who knows? But I trust their brains big time, I loved what they did with WandaVision.\u201d<\/p>\n
