We might not have seen the last of Karvanista if Doctor Who<\/a> actor Craige Els has anything to say about it.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Els suggested that the way in which the final episode of Doctor Who: Flux, ends could set up a spin-off featuring his character.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, the last time you see him, he\u2019s on that ship with Bel [played by Thaddea Graham and Vinder [played by Jacob Anderson],\u201d said Els. \u201cYou sort of think: well, what\u2019s he going to do now?<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough he\u2019s trying to give it all: \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t want these on my ship. I want them to go\u2019 \u2013 I think if they stuck around a little while longer, he wouldn\u2019t be too disappointed.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the prospect of a spin-off featuring the trio, Els added that he\u2019d \u201cabsolutely\u201d be open to reprising Karvanista on audio for Big Finish, saying: \u201cI\u2019m living for it. I\u2019m waiting for the phone call. It\u2019s a Dog\u2019s Life, starring Karvanista<\/span>\u00a0and Bel and Vinder [laughs]. Bring it on!\u201d<\/p>

Doctor Who: Flux finale The Vanquishers<\/a> was an emotional episode for Karvanista, who saw his entire race wiped out by the Sontarans and also revealed that, back in the Division days, he was the Doctor\u2019s companion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the character were ever to come back, it\u2019d be really interesting to explore that idea of who he was before, and at what stage in the Doctor\u2019s life he was the companion, you know?\u201d said Els.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think like most people, I would jump at the chance to come back, and be a part of the show again. A friend of mine said when I first got the job \u2013 he was saying, \u2018Wow, that\u2019s amazing. It\u2019s like getting to play for your country, isn\u2019t it?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it is. You know, being in Doctor Who, it\u2019s like being handed an England shirt. \u2018Now\u2019s your time.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cYou do feel a sort of honour and responsibility, all at the same time. But what a privilege, and what a joy to pay someone like Karvanista<\/span>. I would absolutely come back and play him again.\u201d<\/p>\n
