{"id":8320,"date":"2021-12-06T18:48:19","date_gmt":"2021-12-06T17:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/?p=1533228"},"modified":"2021-12-06T19:21:45","modified_gmt":"2021-12-06T18:21:45","slug":"britney-stars-say-theyre-ready-to-go-if-bbc-commissions-full-series","status":"publish","type":"rss_feed","link":"https:\/\/c01.purpledshub.com\/radiotimes\/rss_feed\/britney-stars-say-theyre-ready-to-go-if-bbc-commissions-full-series\/","title":{"rendered":"Britney stars say they\u2019re \u201cready to go\u201d if BBC commissions full series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rssexcerpt\"><\/p><p class=\"rssauthor\">By Lauren Morris\n                \t\t<\/p><p class=\"rssbyline\">Published: Monday, 06 December 2021 at 12:00 am<\/p><hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/><?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>\n<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><body><p>Charly Clive and Ellen Robertson, the stars of BBC Three comedy Britney, have said that they\u2019re \u201cready to go\u201d with a full series if the broadcaster commissions more episodes.<\/p>\n<p>The comedy-drama pilot, which follows Charly and Ellen\u2019s friendship in the aftermath of Charly\u2019s brain tumour diagnosis, has received rave reviews since arriving on BBC iPlayer last week and stars creators Clive and Robertson alongside Omid Djalili, Tony Gardner and Lia Williams.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">RadioTimes.com<\/a> in an exclusive interview, the pair said that they\u2019re yet to hear whether the pilot, which is based on their live show of the same name, will be returning for a full series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re constantly looking at our phones, just expecting it to ring and it to be a man holding a check,\u201d Clive said. \u201cWe just don\u2019t know and we don\u2019t know at all how long any of this stuff takes. I think people thought that it would come out and then the BBC would ring up five minutes later or something, so lots of people assume that we know and we just don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p> <p>When asked whether the rest of the series has been written, Robertson said: \u201cWe have outlined it all and we have a lot of the jokes written in our heads and we know what happens in the story \u2013 Charly survives!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut we can\u2019t bear to commit it to paper until we know that it\u2019s for something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clive added: \u201cWe know it all and we are ready to go. As soon as we hopefully get the green light, then we are going to be tapping away. Well, Ellen will because I genuinely cannot use a computer to save my life but I\u2019ll be there occasionally chipping in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comedy, which is based on Clive and Robertson\u2019s real-life friendship and experiences, sees Charly and Ellen fight for their friendship after Charly is diagnosed with a brain tumour, which they name Britney.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Britney is available to stream on BBC iPlayer. <\/strong><strong>Looking for something else to watch?
