Channel 4 has renewed Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig<\/a> for both a second series and Christmas special, RadioTimes.com<\/a> can exclusively announce.<\/p>\n Broadcaster and former Bake Off host Sandi Toksvig will return to \u201cexplore more of the <\/span>UK\u2019s wildest, most remote, and beautifully designed holiday digs\u201d, according to Channel 4.<\/span><\/p>\n She\u2019ll once again be accompanied by some of the best names from her \u201clittle black book of travel pals\u201d \u2013 namely actresses Sue Johnston and Sunetra Sarker, comedians Sarah Millican, Sara Pascoe and Jenny \u00c9clair, and psychotherapist Phillipa Perry.<\/p>\n In an statement released to RadioTimes.com<\/strong>, Toksvig said: \u201cFilming the first series of Extraordinary Escapes was the most heavenly experience so I\u2019m delighted I get to spend yet more time in the company of six fabulous females against a backdrop of some of the country\u2019s most beautiful bolt holes.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel very lucky to have the opportunity to slowly wander through and admire the UK\u2019s most tranquil landscapes \u2013 all in the name of work.\u201d<\/p> D<\/span>eborah Dunnett, Commissioning Editor for Features and Daytime at Channel 4, said: \u201c<\/span>We\u2019re delighted that the irresistible combination of Sandi\u2019s brilliant brain, wonderful warmth and fabulous female travel buddies was such a hit with viewers, and we are thrilled to be continuing the Extraordinary Escapes journey. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe second series will be packed to the rafters with even more remarkable women, spectacular properties and stunning landscapes as Sandi plays travel guide extraordinaire once more.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The new series of Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig will air on Channel 4 in early 2022.
