It\u2019s December, which means the countdown to Christmas has begun.<\/p>\n

With the\u00a0Christmas adverts 2021<\/a> on repeat and the\u00a0Christmas TV 2021 line-up<\/a> already giving a sneak peak at some of the exciting titles coming up at the end of the year, it certainly seems we are in for a treat.<\/p>\n

Of course, we need look no further than Netflix<\/a> for a huge dose of Christmas cheer, with the streaming giant offering a mix of brand new festive hits and old favourites, from The Princess Switch to Love Actually and The Christmas Chronicles 1 and 2.<\/p>\n

With festive flicks entering the Netflix Top Ten as soon as Halloween ended back in October, it seems many of us have long been clamouring for some seasonal goodwill.<\/p>\n

So, if you\u2019re weighing up whether to watch Vanessa Hudgens make a play to become the queen of Christmas, or if you\u2019re\u00a0looking for some guidance on where to start, the\u00a0RadioTimes.com<\/a> team have picked out a few of our our festive favourites \u2013 consider it our gift to you.<\/p>\n

At first The Christmas Chronicles may seem like a curio, mainly of interest due to the stunt casting of Kurt Russell as an unusually sexy Santa Claus \u2013 but beyond the star billing the first instalment actually turned out to be one of the most entertaining and sweet Christmas movies for years, tapping into a kind of nostalgia for \u201990s festive movies like Home Alone or Jingle All the Way.<\/p>\n

The story is fairly slight \u2013 two kids accidentally crash Santa\u2019s sleigh and have to help him save Christmas and deliver presents \u2013 but Russell\u2019s charisma and plenty of action make for an enjoyable and (dare we say it) genuinely heartwarming romp.<\/p>

And for the eagerly-awaited sequel, The Christmas Chronicles 2<\/a>, things look to get even cosier as we spend more time with Mrs Claus (Russell\u2019s real-life partner Goldie Hawn) and our heroes take on an evil, Christmas-hating creature named the Belsnickel (Julian Dennison). Sounds like a job for Hot Santa. \u2013 Huw Fullerton, Sci-Fi and Fantasy Editor<\/em><\/p>\n

If you like your festive fare with a healthy helping of cheese, then The Princess Switch is one to add to your\u00a0Christmas<\/span>\u00a0list. Vanessa Hudgens plays Stacey, a talented baker struggling to get over a break-up who, as chance would have it, is the exact double of Lady Margaret Delacourt, Duchess of Montenaro (also Hudgens) \u2013 so\u00a0of course<\/i>\u00a0the pair end up swapping lives, with Lady Margaret escaping her loveless engagement to Prince Edward of Belgravia (Sam Palladio) and falling in love with Stacey\u2019s best friend Kevin, while Stacey enjoys a taste of Royal life and falls for the dishy Edward\u2026. but will they be caught out?<\/p>\n

The film\u2019s every bit as ridiculous and predictable as that synopsis suggests, but that doesn\u2019t stop The Princess Switch from being a supreme guilty pleasure \u2013 it\u2019s frothy fun with a game cast. \u2013 Morgan Jeffery, Executive Editor<\/em><\/p>\n
