Years and Years star T\u2019Nia Miller has been cast in a new Doctor Who<\/a> adventure written by Russell T Davies.<\/p>\n

Mind of the Hodiac was a script written by Davies in the 1980s \u2013 never made for television, it has now been adapted into an audio drama by Big Finish and will be released in March 2022.<\/p>\n

Alongside Miller, Laurie Kynaston (Cradle to Grave) and Annette Badland (Doctor Who, Outlander) will appear in the story opposite Colin Baker (playing the Sixth Doctor) and Bonnie Langford (as companion Melanie Bush).<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s Russell, isn\u2019t it?\u201d Miller \u2013 playing Mrs Maitland \u2013 said of the project\u2019s appeal. \u201cHis writing\u2019s always a gem \u2013 you turn the page and think \u2018right, I\u2019m in for a treat here!\u2019 And he writes family so well, I\u2019ve had such fun recording this \u2013 to work with everybody, it\u2019s so relaxed \u2013 Bonnie is a gem, Annette is just brilliant \u2013 it\u2019s like a masterclass.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cWhen I first read the script, I fell in love with it immediately \u2013 it\u2019s Russell T Davies, what\u2019s not to like!\u201d echoed Badland, playing Mrs Chinn, a research scientist with an agenda of her own.<\/p>\n

Kynaston, who plays the mysterious Hodiac, said of the script: \u201cIt\u2019s a beast, it\u2019s enormous in every sense of the word \u2013 it\u2019s just got so much imagination, and we go on such a journey. And it\u2019s been nice to be back in the room for the first time in a year and a half, back in the studio with another actor \u2013 it\u2019s made such a big difference, it\u2019s been great!\u201d<\/p>\n

The official plot synopsis for Mind of the Hodiac reads:<\/p>\n

In the depths of space, the mysterious Hodiac is manipulating the Galactic Stock Exchange to raise money. His aim? To hire mercenaries for a deadly quest across the stars.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, on Earth, an ordinary British family is plagued by a series of psychic events.<\/em><\/p>\n

The one thing connecting these events is a magnificent patchwork coat \u2013 which just so happens to belong to the Doctor!<\/em><\/p>\n

Guest star Miller is also a fan favourite to take on the role of the next Doctor<\/a> in the Doctor Who television series following Jodie Whittaker\u2019s exit next year. With Russell T Davies already confirmed to return as showrunner, we\u2019re not sure if this new piece of casting news makes that more or less likely \u2013 but either way we\u2019re excited to hear Mind of the Hodiac!<\/p>\n
