The character has a troubled past as a leading member of the Tracksuit Mafia whose father William (Zahn McClarnon) was murdered under the orders of her evil \u2018uncle\u2019, the crime boss Kingpin\/Wilson Fisk<\/a> (Vincent D\u2019Onofrio).<\/p>\n The anti-heroine is also another notable example of a positive representation in Marvel as a deaf character and an amputee due to her experience with Phocomelia.<\/p>\n Now Maya will be the focus of her own series in the aftermath of the dramatic Hawkeye finale.<\/p>\n So, here is all you need to know about the Echo series.<\/p>\n We likely have a long wait for the Echo series, probably looking at a 2023 release at the earliest.<\/p>\n The show was only officially confirmed by Disney Plus and Marvel in November 2021, after its development was first reported<\/a> earlier in the year.<\/p>\n Marion Dayre will serve as head writer on the show but production has not begun yet and so we are a while off the series coming to our screens.<\/p>\n Rest assured we shall update this page as soon as we know when to expect the series.<\/p>\n Alaqua Cox<\/strong> will reprise her role as Echo\/Maya Lopez from Hawkeye in the new spin-off series.<\/p>\n Fra Fee is also keen to return<\/a> as Maya\u2019s former friend and fellow Tracksuit Mafia member Kazimierz \u201cKazi\u201d Kazimierczak.<\/p>\n He told RadioTimes.com<\/span><\/a> earlier this month: \u201cI mean, are you kidding? Of course, I would love to be part of it.<\/p>\n \u201cBut my phone is on at the moment, and there hasn\u2019t been a phone call just yet. We\u2019ll just have to wait and see.
