In what was either a fantastic bit of luck or some spectacular planning, Vincent D\u2019Onofrio\u2019s Kingpin and Charlie Cox\u2019s Daredevil both re-entered the MCU on the exact same day.<\/p>\n

15th December saw D\u2019Onofrio\u2019s character, crime lord Wilson Fisk, make a surprise return in an episode of Disney Plus<\/a> series Hawkeye<\/a>, while Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/a> \u2013 released the same day in UK cinemas \u2013 also featured a cameo from Cox\u2019s super-powered lawyer Matt Murdock.<\/p>\n

The two characters both originated in Netflix<\/a>\u2018s Daredevil series \u2013 which ran for three seasons between 2015 and 2018 \u2013 and while fans were overjoyed to see them reintroduced in separate Marvel projects, the inevitable question that follows is\u2026 will we see Daredevil and Kingpin face off on-screen again?<\/p>

Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Vincent D\u2019Onofrio said that he was \u201cvery happy\u201d that both he and co-star Cox got to reprise their old roles. \u201cI just think it\u2019s amazing,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m just so happy for Charlie.\u201d<\/p>\n

But he played down suggestions that these character comebacks could be\u00a0laying the groundwork for a revival of the Daredevil series or a new film.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo,\u201d he replied when asked if there had been talks about a new project. \u201c[But] I mean, one can only hope, you know? I like playing the character [laughs], and I like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So one can only hope, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, whether or not we see Fisk again rather depends on if he survived the events of the Hawkeye series \u2013 at the end of the finale, Fisk is about to be shot by Maya (Alaqua Cox) and we hear the gun go off as the camera pans away. Kingpin\u2019s a wily sort though, so could he survive to return again?<\/p>\n

\u201cThat, I don\u2019t know,\u201d said Vincent D\u2019Onofrio. \u201cI know as much as you do. Again, I enjoyed playing the character, and I always have felt that with that character, there\u2019s just so many directions we could go with him. But I just don\u2019t know the answer to that question.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know how it ended, because we shot it. This is it. That\u2019s it, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n

Regardless of what happens next though, D\u2019Onofrio says he\u2019s grateful to fans who campaigned for the return of Daredevil characters to the MCU after the series was cancelled by Netflix.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah. It\u2019s really cool. I mean, ever since I\u2019ve played this part, the fans have been really nice to me about it, and very honest, and very excited about Wilson Fisk. They continue to be that way.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, my job is to really knock it out of the park whenever they give me the opportunity to do so. My fans are the ones that establish whether I have or not, you know? That\u2019s all, really, I have. It\u2019s not like we\u2019re doing theatre where there\u2019s an audience and you can hear their applause, you know?<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd social media, these days, and people on the streets, they tell you how they feel. They tell you what they think. It\u2019s been a really warm welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n
