It\u2019s not Christmas Day without a star-studded adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler\u2019s work, and this year is no different with Superworm getting the animated treatment. Superworm follows the titular insect who can help others by changing into useful shapes \u2013 but when he\u2019s snatched by a villainous lizard, the garden creatures will have to be the ones who help him this time.<\/p>\n
The Crown<\/a>\u2018s Matt Smith and Olivia Colman lead the voice cast as Superworm and narrator respectively, with Rob Brydon, Patricia Allison and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith also lending their voices.<\/p>\n

Channel 4<\/i> <\/span>\n<\/div>\nTwo years after the Derry Girls<\/a> special, Bake Off has turned to another Channel 4 hit for the Great British Bake Off 2021 Christmas special<\/a> \u2013 the emotionally devastating Aids drama It\u2019s A Sin. However this looks to be a much cheerier affair as four of the show\u2019s stars swap the Pink Palace for the Bake Off Tent, with Olly Alexander, Lydia West, Nathaniel Curtis and Shaun Dooley all competing for the iconic Star Baker apron \u2013 and possibly even a Hollywood handshake.<\/p>\n

BBC<\/i> <\/span>\n<\/div>\nA Call the Midwife special<\/a> is almost as synonymous with Christmas as mince pies and drunk relatives, and this year\u2019s edition is set to be the \u201cbusiest Christmas Day ever\u201d for Helen George\u2019s nurse Trixie Franklin and Leonie Elliott\u2019s Lucille Anderson. However there\u2019s still time to prepare for a wedding amongst all the work and festivities, until bride-to-be Lucille experiences quite the injury. Will there still be wedding bells as well as carol bells?<\/p>\n
The Larkins Christmas Special \u2013 9pm, ITV<\/strong><\/h2>\n $\""Larkins"\"$ <\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/source><\/picture><\/div>
ITV<\/i> <\/span>\n<\/div>\nThe Larkins<\/a> only ended its first series in November, but it\u2019s already back for a primetime Christmas special \u2013 and the good-natured series couldn\u2019t be more fitting in the festive TV schedules. As the season for family gatherings, the episode sees Charley introduce his straight-laced parents to the Larkins \u2013 which does not go particularly well even before the power cut and burglary.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a good Christmas for Bradley Walsh fans \u2013 here\u2019s also on-screen at 7:25pm hosting Blankety Blank.<\/p>\n

Already a pantomime in many ways, Mrs Brown\u2019s Boys has not had a full series in years but remains immensely popular thanks to its annual seasonal specials. The 2021 edition is focused on a murder-mystery evening of all things (in aid of alcoholic greyhounds apparently) though Christmas spirit is present through Agnes\u2019s shenanigans at the church choir. Look out for Brendan O\u2019Carroll\u2019s dancing and one of the show\u2019s signature mistakes!<\/p>\n
